The CFG covers a wide time range for both attack and decay, resulting in maximum times of several minutes per stage for a single cycle. 

Taking inspiration from West Coast-inspired function generators, each CFG can provide multiple functionalities, like LFOs, an envelope generator, a gate/trigger delay, a sub-harmonic generator and an audio oscillator. 

The CFG was originally designed for Cric, but it holds its own as a fully-featured function generator for modular systems too.
